The Leftist Intelligentsia know that if they can diminish Trump’s brand they have a better shot of winning the White House in 2020.
The whole purpose of the Covington MAGA Kerfuffle was to move the Overton Window on “the Trump brand” into the realm of the vile and the repulsive.
If not for the crazy-ass Black Hebrew Israelite’s video The Whole Hot First Take Enchilada regarding the MAGA Hat Kids and The Put Upon Omaha Elder might have been The Tipping Point.
What a difference a couple of weeks make.
As of this writing, the soled leather is now firmly adorning a different set of toes.
The Governor Ralph “Coonman” Northam blackface and Klan robe photo is a yuge branding disaster for a Democrat party that has been working overtime for decades to carry the burning cross from their historical front yard to the lawn of a clueless, complacent and hapless GOP – and have been doing so with a great deal of success.
Which makes it all the more oddly amazing that as this post is being rattled out on Sunday afternoon Moonwalking Ralphie is still wearing the Grand Klegel robes in the Old Dominion’s executive office.
The last thing the Donk Mememiesters want is for two whole generations (or three) to engage in some critical historical thinking about the history of the Klu Klux Klan and it’s historical embrace of and by the Progressive Left.
It’s not an accident that CNN initially mis-labled Guv Coonman as a Republican.
Fortunately for the Democrats, their media allies have been and will continue to put the after-hours clock to do all they can to insure this Branding Titanic slips quietly below the waters of the public’s collective consciousness.
A ruthless and efficient GOP marketing machine would be staging all-out memetic warfare on the Donks right now, but alas, you gotta play the cards your dealt.
