TMZ is reporting that creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti has been arrested for allegedly hitting his estranged wife:
Our law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after his estranged wife filed a felony DV report. We’re told her face was “swollen and bruised.”
Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday, but there was a confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A.
We’re told during today’s confrontation the woman ran out of the apartment building and was on the sidewalk on her cellphone with sunglasses covering her eyes, screaming on the phone, “I can’t believe you did this to me.”
We’re told security brought her inside the building and Michael showed up 5 minutes later, ran into the building, chasing after her. He screamed repeatedly, “She hit me first.” We’re told he angrily added, “This is bulls***, this is f***ing bulls***.”
A law enforcement source says on Tuesday, Avenatti “kicked her out of the apartment” and that’s presumably when the alleged domestic violence occurred. We’re told she went back to the apartment on Wednesday to retrieve her belongings and called police to stand by in case things got heated.
Avenatti made a name for himself as the lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her legal fight with President Trump. Daniels alleges she had an affair with Trump over a decade ago, and was paid to keep quiet about it.
Michael Avenatti has leveraged the notoriety gained through representing Daniels to position himself as one of the leaders of the progressive “Resistance” against President Trump. Avenatti has often attacked Trump on mainstream media networks and social media outlets.
Recently, Avenatti represented Brett Kavanaugh accuser Julie Swetnick, who alleged that the then-SCOTUS nominee had participated in her gang rape when she was in high school. Swetnick also alleged that Kavanaugh helped lead a ring of high school boys who would drug and then gang rape girls at multiple parties.
Last week Michael Avenatti accused Fox News personality Tucker Carlson of assaulting his newest client, a gay Latin immigrant, at a posh golf club in Virginia. Tucker not only denied the assault allegations, but countered that Avenatti’s client had verbally harassed his daughter, provoking a confrontation between the two.
Today’s arrest is not the end of Michael Avenatti’s legal troubles. Avenatti and Julie Swetnick were recently referred for federal prosecution by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Senator Chuck Grassley. The two were referred for prosecution for the federal criminal offenses of conspiracy, false statements, and obstruction of Congress.
Senator Grassley had issued a 29-page letter detailing the charges that stemmed from numerous contradictions between Swetnick’s sworn statement to Congress, and a television interview she gave after the statement was given.
I’m sure that federal prosecution, as well as today’s arrest for wife beating, will have absolutely zero bearing on Michael Avenatti’s presidential aspirations.
