Stormy Daniels Could Have to Pay Trump Millions of Dollars If Case is Moved to Federal Court
President Donald J. Trump must be feeling Presidential Campaign deja vu…
…because he is having to deal with another “Manufactured Bimbo Eruption”.
However, he may not have to endure this distraction from his Presidential Duties much longer.
Yesterday, CNN.com reported that
The lawyer representing the adult film star Stormy Daniels alleges that some of the accusations she’s making against President Donald Trump occurred while Trump was in office.
“Is there anything in the litany of accusations — you would call them facts — that surround this case that happened while Donald Trump was President?” CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Michael Avenatti, Daniels’ lawyer, during an interview Friday.
“Yes,” Avenatti replied.
When asked by Tapper if he could elaborate, Avenatti gave a simple “no.”
Avenatti had claimed earlier Friday in an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo that Daniels was “physically threatened to stay silent about what she knew about Donald Trump.”
He declined to provide further details about who made the threat during that interview, including whether or not it was Trump or someone associated with him.
CNN had reached out to Larry Rosen, a lawyer representing Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal attorney, and Jill Martin, a Trump Organization lawyer who has been involved in legal matters related to the Daniels allegations. Press secretary Sarah Sanders said during Friday’s White House press briefing that she has “no knowledge of that situation” and referred reporters to Trump’s personal attorneys.
Avenatti reiterated to Tapper Friday that the public will have more details from Daniels’ upcoming interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes,” which is slated to air later this month.
“I think that when the American people hear from my client who will provide details — very specific details related to this threat — they will conclude, as I have, that this was not a random threat by some wing nut … out of the blue,” he told Tapper.
Evidently, The President and his attorney have had enough of these shenanigans because last night the Associated Press reported that
Donald Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, wants a lawsuit brought by porn actress Stormy Daniels moved to federal court, and claims the woman could owe $20 million in damages for violating a non-disclosure agreement.
The Friday court filing seeks to move Daniels’ case from a state-level court to federal court in Los Angeles.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is seeking to invalidate the non-disclosure agreement. She has offered to return the $130,000 she was paid.
The filing accuses Clifford of violating the agreement more than 20 times.
A separate filing says Trump would join a request to have the case heard by an arbitrator.
Clifford’s lawyer says it’s an attempt to have the matter decided in private arbitration, “thus hiding the truth from the public.”
Or perhaps, Mr. Avenatti, the President and Mr. Cohen know exactly who is paying your salary.
It has been quite obvious for a while now, that there is a reason that Ms. Daniels/Richards or whatever she is calling herself today, is back to bother Donald J. Trump…and that reason is money…and lots of it.
Just take a look at her lawyer.
Michael Avenatti is a high-profile American attorney, commentator, and entrepreneur who is based in Los Angeles. You can routinely see him on television and in the print medium as a professional pundit on a bunch of issues. He’s considered one of the foremost trial lawyers in America with victories across the country.
According to the biographical page on his website, he has been responsible as lead counsel for over 1 billion dollars in verdicts and settlements, including many which were well in excess of 10 million dollars.
Also according to his own biographical page on his website, during college and Law School. he worked at a political opposition research and media firm, which was run by Chicago Mayor, Clinton confidant, and former White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel. While with Emmanuel’s research and media firm, Avenatti worked on over 150 campaigns and 42 States, including multiple gubernatorial and Congressional campaigns, such as Joe Biden’s US Senate campaign.
3 years after graduating from Law School, he joined Greene, Broillet, & Wheeler, a Los Angeles boutique litigation firm. While he was there, he was spearheaded a successful idea theft lawsuit which involved, drumroll please, the reality show “The Apprentice”and its producer, Mark Burnett, as well as Donald Trump.
As an aside, it you look at contributions made in Santa Monica, CA, where Greene, Broillet, and Wheeler are located, to local Democratic Candidates, you will find several donations from lawyers with that firm.
But, I digress.
One of my colleagues at spartareport.com called this situation “sad”…and, it truly is.
It is bad enough for this young lady to breach the confidentiality agreement for which she was well compensated for. However, for her lawyer to go on CNN and try to claim that the President of the United States of America is somehow involved with a “woman of ill repute” whom his lawyer paid to leave him alone so many years ago, is beyond the pale.
That is…until you realize who is actually paying for Mr. Avenatti’s services.
It most certainly isn’t Ms. Daniels paying for Avenatti’s services.
Evidently, she is used to having other men pay for hers.
Just as it was in the case of all of the “young ladies” which Gloria Allred paraded in front of every camera that she could find during the 2016 Presidential Campaign, the reason for the reappearance of Stormy Daniels could not be more apparent…or revolting.
I thought Chicago Backroom Political Strategy left Democratic Party Politics when Obama did.
Evidently, they are still practicing it…and failing miserably.
And, as my fellow writer at spartareport.com would say,
That is just SAD.
Until He Comes,
