Pundits and politicians have speculated all week that President Trump would nominate Circuit Judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. President Trump made that nomination official minutes ago in a Rose Garden press conference.

Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination is likely to be more contentious than Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination was. Democrats are already gearing up to attack Amy Coney Barrett’s Catholic faith. They’ve already dusted off The Handmaid’s Tale in an effort to paint Barrett as a religious nut job who will force women to carry their children to term.
Some Democrats have even begun attacking Amy Coney Barrett’s family by implying that Barrett’s two adopted Haitian children may have been kidnapped.
If you attack Amy Coney Barrett’s kids who we’re adopted from Haiti like this Democrat staffer did, we will never, and I mean never, forgive or forget it. pic.twitter.com/eQtjvYiYyp

Democrats attempted to paint Justice Kavanaugh as a gang rapist during his confirmation hearings. The despicable accusations left a sour taste in many Americans’ mouths, and blunted much of the momentum Democrats had gained going into the 2016 momentum. Attacking Amy Coney Barrett by slandering her religion and implying she engaged in human trafficking when she adopted two of her children will be much, much worse for the Democrats.
Buckle up and grab the popcorn, folks. It’s going to be one hell of a ride.
