9-11, The Trump Effect

Four years ago, I had a guest editorial published on the Sparta Report.   9/11, The Pearl Harbor of Our Generation can still be found by typing the title in the search box at the top of the page.  The article was intended as a reminder that we should never forget the events of 9/11 and the enemy who perpetrated them.  Although quieter today than 4 years ago, that enemy is still there and still looking and waiting for another opportunity to strike.

We all certainly remember the heated battles of the 2016 presidential election.   I mean really, who could forget Hillary being thrown into that black van at the 9-11 ceremony in New York.  But, do we remember all the turmoil that surrounded the globe after eight years of the Obama administration?

There was a brutal civil war raging in Syria that opened the door for our enemies to form a caliphate the size of Great Britain in Iraq and Syria.  Al Qaeda related militants carried out attacks in West Africa, Brussels, Paris, Nice, Istanbul, Berlin, Cologne, and others.  Caravans of Middle Eastern refugees were flooding into Europe and Clinton and Obama were wanting to import them into America by the tens of thousands.  Iran was being an antagonist and exporting their anti-Americanism with investments to several terrorist organizations.  An anti-America candidate who referred to President Obama as “the son of a whore”, won the presidency of the Philippines and started distancing from America while turning to China.  There was an attempted coup against the president of Turkey.   Putin showed little concern for Obama, and China was ever increasing its power and influence.  Little Rocketman was firing missiles from North Korea into the sea and testing nuclear bombs.  And, there were trainloads and miles upon miles of illegal immigrants making their way across Mexico to our open southern border.

All that turmoil, as I said four years ago, was against the backdrop of the US withdrawing from the battlefields while reducing our military resources and preparedness and supporting unprotected borders.   The world was not in a peaceful posture and American’s had reason to worry about their future.  My what a difference a change in leadership can make.  Without question, the noise and threat level from global terrorist has been greatly reduced over the last 4 years.  The caliphate no longer controls any territory. The almost monthly global terrorist attacks have fallen silent. There are no more caravans of refuges across Europe or trainloads of illegal immigrants across Mexico.  Rocketman has all but disappeared, Putin is quiet, and Trump is going head to head against China.   The Trump team has negotiated an unimaginable peace agreement between the UAE and Israel.  And, our energy independence means that America can no longer be held hostage or dragged into conflict between warring Arab nations who have been fighting for centuries.

While President Trump has had tremendous successes in his first term, we must still remember 9-11 and stay prepare and ready to fight our global enemies.  For an enemy who has been at war for thousands of years, waiting four or eight years for a change in leadership is just a speck in time.  Undoubtedly, they will try again.  But this year, we face a domestic enemy of communist, socialist, fascist, with a hatred of America’s freedom and prosperity similar to our global enemies.  While they represent an extremely small part of America, their support from democrat leadership and the mainstream media continues to encourage their violence and elevate their domestic terror threat level.  In this election, who do you trust to keep our military prepared?  Who do you trust to take swift and direct action to defend our freedom?  Who do you trust to restore peace to the streets of our communities?  That choice could not be more clear.  President Trump, or the man and the party who support rioting, looting and defunding our police departments?

It is sobering that on this 19th anniversary of 9-11 that we face the choices we have.  The global threat seems diminished and has been replaced by domestic terrorist.   Groups who have been established and funded by organizations and donors affiliated at the highest levels of the democrat party.  Four years ago, I drew a comparison to the attacks on 9-11 and Pearl Harbor.  In 2020, it is hard not to draw a comparison of the greed and lust for power of the leaders and big donors of the democrat party to the greed and lust for power of the leaders of Germany and Japan whose mania thrust the globe into a world war.  It was the people of America who recognized the consequence of that moment and brought the world to peace.  It has been the people of America who have built and protected this powerful nation and have allowed its might to be used to keep peace around the globe.  It must be that same resolve with unyielding leadership that will quiet the turmoil in our streets and bring this nation back together.  Our torch of liberty must continue to burn bright for the tired, the poor, and the huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
