Ratings for the news are up, way up, and so are the approval ratings for President Trump. This is a bad thing, according to leftist media critics, who view the President turning the tables on the leftist, corporate media and their narrative of an incompetent, childish buffoon who is more interested in getting into angry tirades on Twitter than running the country.
The average increase in viewers of evening news programs is up a staggeringly high 42% from last year with about 32 million viewers. With this increase in viewership, President Trump has been able to speak to millions of people directly without the angry, left wing media filter.
Predictably, President Trump has been increasingly censored by the corporate media because they are noticing that these press conferences are having an effect. Just like in the State of the Union addresses, every time President Trump gets a chance to be heard unfiltered, the public likes what he says and approves of his actions.
Left wing radicals on Twitter and elsewhere have been putting tremendous pressure on the corporate media to refuse to air these press conferences. MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes have been demanding networks stop airing these pandemic briefings for days. Now though, activists on the left are piling on and demanding them to shut President Trump’s spigot off:
With President Trump’s ongoing coronavirus briefings, television news outlets are facing a dilemma: Sacrifice soaring ratings or become an uncritical stream of White House “misinformation” https://t.co/nvs0omZXJZ

Do you have a child? Even if you don’t, you are certainly familiar with the concept of positive and negative consequences.
Right now, when Trump lies, the only consequences are positive – his base gets just that much more fired up. https://t.co/EU2wFDtMRf

The media is in a dilemma now though, do they turn off the briefings and lose huge advertising revenues, or do they ignore their religious adherence to left wing ideology? From the Daily Beast article linked above:
On the one hand, their ratings have never been higher, and viewers’ appetites for the live sessions have shown no signs of dwindling. On the other hand, journalists and executives at MSNBC, CNN and the often Trump-friendly Fox News—which scored an impressive 6.2 million viewers for Sunday’s installment of the Trump show, according to Nielsen—are increasingly facing the likelihood that they are becoming an uncritical and unvetted transmission belt for propaganda and misinformation.
Some government funded PBS and NPR stations have decided in the last few days that they will refuse to air the President’s pandemic press briefings because they cannot “correct the lies” from the President as they happen, shorthand for “we want our viewers to receive our version of the news which only discusses what we found appropriate with the leaders in the Democrat party.”
However, we will not be airing the briefings live due to a pattern of false or misleading information provided that cannot be fact checked in real time. (2)

The government funded media corporations will be receiving millions of dollars in funding from the China Flu Relief Bill that just passed unanimously in the US Senate. Hopefully the administration attaches conditions to this funding or demands airtime from these government funded and licensed television and radio networks.
