Six Bay Area counties have been “ordered” to shut down for three weeks effective at Midnight tonight. They are:
- San Francisco
- Santa Clara
- San Mateo
- Contra Costa
Only essential businesses and services will be allowed to remain open, including
- Health care operations
- Businesses that provide food, shelter, and social services, and other necessities of life for economically disadvantaged or otherwise needy individuals
- Fresh and nonperishable food retailers (including convenience stores)
- Child care facilities
- Gas stations
- Laundry businesses and services necessary for maintaining the safety, sanitation and essential operation of a residence.
People will be allowed to go out, per Dr. Matt Willis, Marin County’s Public Health Officer.
“You can still complete your most essential outings or even engage in outdoor activity, so long as you avoid close contact.”
Personally, I am awaiting to hear if a medical procedure I have scheduled for Thursday will be cancelled. A call to the hospital this morning said that I should expect to hear later today, but it is likely to be cancelled.
Everything is just so puzzling. I don’t know what to make of it all. How severe is the CoronaVirus anyway? What is going on?
UPDATE: Colonoscopy just got cancelled. LIFE IS GOOD!
