A few things on my mind today.
Home Alone and the Great Trump Scene Controversy
When CBC acquired broadcast rights to Home Alone 2 in 2014, several edits were made to adapt the movie for television. At the time, a total of eight minutes was cut from the film, including a short scene featuring Donald Trump. https://t.co/qP3ixItTd1

We’ll go with that although it’s a bit of “if you live by the fake news, you die by the fake news.”
Jesus was a Refugee
Today I join millions around the world in celebrating the arrival of divinity on earth, who came into this world not in riches but in poverty, not as a citizen but as a refugee.
No matter where or how we celebrate, merry Christmas.

The Left ruins everything. I think this sums it up the best:
Here comes the “Jesus was a refugee” bad takes from the folks that look down on Christians every other day of the year.

Refugee Cap and Trump Is Trying To Keep Out All Refugees
The President has reduced the refugee cap from 30,000 to 18,000 for 2020. On a percentage basis, this is YUGE and has the left pretty well spun up. There are some 65 million refugees (those who have been involuntarily displaced) worldwide. It’s sort of the ultimate virtue signally to take in a few of them while leaving the vast majority to fend for themselves.
President Trump also issued Executive Order 13888: Enhancing State and Local Involvement in Refugee Resettlement in September which is just starting to take effect. This EO requires that localities opt-in to having the refugees settled in their area. It seems like a “States Rights” issue and makes sense to me. On the other hand, you can only imagine . . .
Here’s the list of states and cities that have currently opted into the program. There is quite a kerfuffle in Tennessee since Tennessee will continue accepting refugees, Gov. Bill Lee says, as legislative leaders signal disapproval.
If you’re so inclined, you might Google where your state is on this issue and write a letter stating your position.
There’s a lot to say here but my own view is that this is prudent given the mess our ability to handle refugees and asylum seekers is in right now. Bringing in more at this point only exacerbates an out of control situation.
