So we have a bunch of normally sane thinking folks all spun up today about Chick-fil-A donating to the SPLC.

Well, one thing I hate more than the MLM’s fake-ish news is our fake-ish news. I hate it worse when people get their knickers in a twist over nothing. There’s plenty to get your knickers in a twist about but this isn’t it!
Yes, there was a donation of $2,500 in 2017.
Two things to note:
- This is 2019.
- $2,500 is a tiny amount of money.
It turns out that, according to the Daily Caller:
“The SPLC donation was made by a volunteer member of the Chick-fil-A Foundation Advisory Board,” a Chick-fil-A spokesperson told the DCNF. The spokesperson did not specify who the volunteer was and has not yet responded to a request for comment on the matter.
“Each volunteer advisor, in 2017, was offered the opportunity to recommend a grant recipient,” the spokesperson said. “The grants were given to a range of organizations, including Meals on Wheels, Atlanta Mission, the Holocaust Survivor Support Fund, Georgia Historical Society and brain health research at Emory University.”
So some volunteer wanted $2,500 for something probably like baseball uniforms or some other trivial thing. Big freaking deal! I actually don’t really care if it went into the SLPC slush fund. People donate for all sorts of reasons. This is completely non-news.
If you like their food, go there. If you don’t like their food, don’t do there. This is real simple. Don’t get all twisted around when some media entity — on the left or on the right — decides what chicken sandwich you should eat!
By the way, I long ago gave up supporting companies because they did or didn’t do things I supported. If they have a product I like, I spend money there. If I don’t, I don’t. If you think that companies have any loyalty to any group of people, you’re mistaken.
