The 12 Days of Corrupt Democratic Politicians – Day 4

Tennessee Representative Steven Cohen wins today’s honors

On the 4th Day of Corruption, the Democrats sent to me………4 Steve Cohen’s…….and a history of stupid comments by him.

Steven Cohen, representative out of the Tennessee 9th District, offers up a different type of corruption, not generally associated with money. His focus is upon increasing the power of the Democratic Party through Voter Rights and denying any rights to Conservatives.

Cohen sponsored the “For the People Act”, legislation that would require automatic voter registration, the end of voter roll purges, restoring voting rights to those who have completed criminal sentences and reform of the campaign finance system. Never mind that voter rights are the purview of the individual states, he wants to override state voter laws and suppress State’s Rights.

A statement from Cohen says “The For the People Act will restore confidence in government to American’s who have watched for too long as special interest dictated policy and voting rights were compromised.” He further claims the Act would “end the dominance of big money and provide more transparency and accountability”………of course, for Democrats only.

Cohen is also a firm supporter of the Constitution, as it is NOT written. He has introduced two bills:

  1. To eliminate the Electoral College in favor of a popular vote.
  2. To prevent Presidents from pardoning themselves, administration members, campaign members or family.

Of course, the pardon power would not apply to Democrats nor the Clintons. Just to Republicans and President Trump.

Belief in God

Representative Cohen is also a big believer in God. He is such a big believer that during a hearing as he was swearing in witnesses, he specifically omitted “so help me God” from the oaths.

Barr and the Mueller Investigation

Cohen has also proved that he is no fan of Bill Barr. Instead he supports Peter Strzok and the other members of the FBI cabal.

When the July 2018 hearing was held on Russian collusion, Cohen had the audacity to claim that the hearing was “nothing more than a distraction from the Mueller investigation. “

Then he worsened that statement by insulting wounded veterans across the country with a comment to Peter Strzok…..If I could give you a purple heart, I would. It is astonishing to me that you would be put on trial as you have today.”

Cohen has dismissed Attorney General William Barr’s statement that Mueller’s probe cleared the president. Cohen tweeted,

“Barr didn’t make his decision on obstruction after reading the Mueller Report. He made it in 2018 when he wrote a memo to the DOJ stating that the president couldn’t be charged with obstruction of justice. He’s not a neutral observer! ”

In an appearance on MSNBC Cohen said, “First Mueller was not making a traditional prosecutorial judgment. Those are very interesting words. And then as you well said, he did not draw a conclusion one way or the other on obstruction. It does not draw that conclusion. It also does not exonerate the president.”

About Barr, Cohen said, “He was appointed by Donald Trump after he decided Jeff Sessions wasn’t his Roy Cohn, he wasn’t his ace attorney looking out for him, not for the country, not for justice. Bill Barr was put in there for a reason.”

So Cohen supports the cabal to deprive the voters of the President that they elected.

Cohen’s  Comedic Wit

Cohen thinks that he is a comedian and humorist. He showed his talent off in Congress when Barr refused to come before the committee.

Cohen brought a bucket of KFC chicken and a ceramic chicken to the hearing and began to eat it. He was “sending a message” to Barr, that Barr was a chicken.

There are 200,000 wannabe comedians in the country with no jobs, and Cohen is trying out to be 201,001 when he is voted out of office.

Intimidation of Star Parker

Cohen has also shown himself to be an arrogant prick when in hearings. Conservative Star Parker came before his committee and was talking about abortion in the black community being the leading cause of death. She further stated that it was “disingenuous to conflate abortion with social ills.”

Cohen retorted that he would “like to say that I am not disingenuous about anything I say about Medicaid, or Medicare … or SNAP programs.”

Then, raising his voice, he continued, “And to suggest I’m disingenuous shows your ignorance or your absolute inability to deal with Congress people the way they should. I believe in those issues and I think they’re proper, and to say I’m disingenuous is just wrong and I expect an apology.”

Maybe Cohen just understands that he is better than all of us by being in Congress.

Donald Trump and the Constitution

Cohen is a big believer in President Donald Trump and his businesses. He is such a believer that he stated:

“It’s a criminal enterprise that he and his family have been engaged in, to run for president and once they got the presidency, they monetized it. They’ve done it at the Trump Tower. They’ve done it as the Trump hotels. They’ve done it with the Saudis.”

“This is a criminal enterprise that makes Al Capone and Frank Nitti look like – make them look like they were good guys.”

(Wonder what he would say about the Clinton Foundation and Hillary?)

Cohen has also called for an end to all public spending at any business owned by Trump. He has introduced an Amendment to stop the spending under the Emoluments Clauses. Such spending “violates a Constitutional anti-corruption provision that prohibit any President from receiving funding from the federal government beyond his salary.”

Further comments include:

“As a member of Congress, it’s my duty to protect and defend the Constitution, and that’s what I’m trying to do by preventing further violations of the charter’s Emoluments Clauses. The Clauses explicitly prohibit the kind of private profiteering this President has been engaged in since taking office without placing his business interests in a blind trust, or divesting, as his predecessors have done. Congress has an obligation to prevent these clear violations. I intend to attempt to amend every annual spending bill with this prohibition.”

Cohen has problems with the 2nd Amendment also.

“Realistically, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump will not do anything that the NRA does not want. They see the slippery slope as they see it or camel getting it ts nose under the tent and for those reasons they will do nothing. Donald Trump is seriously concerned, as he should be, about his re-election. If he loses some of the NRA support and some of the people who just totally listen to the NRA and guns are their number one issue, they could sit it out or not vote and he’s afraid of that. He puts his re-election, which is his personal greed first and the safety of the public second. We should always think whenever we think of Donald Trump, we should realize he’s Individual One he’s a person who won the election along with Michael Cohen by violating the campaign finance laws and getting Stormy Daniels and Kathryn McDougal to sign these releases and give him money. He would be Michael Cohen in jail. Individual One.”

Yet, this fool wants to strip the Electoral College from the Constitution and State’s Rights for determining who can vote and increase Gun Ownership restrictions in violation of the 2nd Amendment.  How does this show him to be a strong supporter of the Constitution and Bill of Rights?

More Attacks on Trump

Representative Cohen has chosen to show his disdain for the President in other ways.

  1. In another comment, Cohen attacks Trump personally.“He golfs when he could be reading or be in church or be with his family. Never see him with Barron. You’d think he’d be golfing with Dad occasionally but narcissists only engage in activities where they are the show. No movies, sports viewing either just Fox! He will start a war!”
  2. Cohen said that Trump is a liar and he believes the allegations made by writer E. Jean Carroll that Trump sexually assaulted her.Cohen said on MSNBC, “The Republicans just lie that their mantra. They do it over and over again, and it all comes from their leader who said he never met this woman. I don’t know the woman who accused him of rape, but I would take Pinocchio’s word over trump because Pinocchio has a better record.”

Congratulations Representative Cohen! You have been chosen to be 4th Day of Corrupt Democratic Politicians for your behavior, your arrogance and your desire to destroy the Constitution and Bill of Rights and what they stand for.
