NY Abortion Law Blowback: Missouri House Passes Law Banning Abortions After 8 Weeks…More States to Follow

“Calm down Liberals, no one is coming for your abortions, we just want common sense abortion control” – Greg Whalen

FoxNews.com reports that

The Missouri House on Friday approved a restrictive abortion bill that would ban abortions after the eighth week of pregnancy — one of a slew of similar bills in red states that have sparked a heated national debate on abortion rights.

The bill was passed by the Senate on Thursday, and now with approval from the House goes to Republican Gov. Mike Parson, who is expected to sign it.

The legislation would make Missouri one of the most restrictive states in the country for abortions. The bill includes exceptions for medical emergencies, but not for rape and incest. It also bans abortions based solely on race, sex or a diagnosis of potential Down Syndrome.

While women who have an abortion would not be prosecuted under the legislation, doctors could face as much as 15 years in prison for performing an abortion at eight weeks and beyond. Democrats opposed to the bill attacked the legislation in blistering terms.

“Laundry, bleach, acid bitter, concoction, knitting needles, bicycle spokes, ballpoint pens, jumping from the top of the stairs or the roof,” Democratic Rep. Sarah Unsicker said. “These are ways that women around the world who don’t have access to legal abortions perform their own.”

The bill’s passage in the House comes after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a law Wednesday that would outlaw almost all abortions, making performing one punishable by up to 99 years in prison unless the mother’s health is at risk. That law, too, did not grant exemptions in cases of rape or incest.

“This legislation stands as a powerful testament to Alabamians’ deeply held belief that every life is precious and that every life is a sacred gift from God,” Ivey said in a statement.

In Georgia, Gov. Brian Kemp this month signed a “heartbeat” bill into law that prohibits abortions in the state after a heartbeat is detected, as early as six weeks into a pregnancy. That bill does allow exceptions in case of rape, incest and if the life of the mother is in danger.

“Georgia is a state that values life,” Kemp said before putting his signature to the LIFE Act. “We stand up for those who are unable to speak for themselves.”

The bills mark the latest shots in a looming fight over the legacy of Roe v Wade. The Alabama bill was written in part to reignite the battle over the controversial 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion across the country. Ivey noted that the bill is unenforceable because of Roe v. Wade and won’t come into force unless it is overturned.

Kentucky, Mississippi and Ohio have also approved abortion bans once a heartbeat can be detected. Laws in North Dakota and Iowa have been struck down by the courts. Some conservatives hope that, with the Supreme Court having shifted to the right in light of the recent appointments of Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, there is now a chance the court will revisit Roe and overturn it.

But GOP Rep. Nick Schroer said the Missouri bill is “made to withstand judicial challenges and not cause them.”

“While others are zeroing in on ways to overturn Roe v. Wade and navigate the courts as quickly as possible, that is not our goal,” Schroer said. “However, if and when that fight comes we will be fully ready. This legislation has one goal, and that goal is to save lives.”

Planned Parenthood Action Fund President Leana Wen on Thursday accused Gov. Parson of riding the “disgraceful coattails of 25 white men in Alabama who just voted to ban safe, legal abortion.”

If the courts don’t allow Missouri’s legislation to take effect, it includes a series of less-restrictive time limits (14, 18 and 20 weeks) that may be more likely to win favor with the courts.

What did the Liberals expect when they began to legalize late term abortions up to the day of birth by passing laws such as the horrendous one signed by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo?

Gentle readers, now more than ever, our Sovereign Nation has become a battleground in the struggle of Good vs. Evil.

If the fight over our nation’s sovereignty has not convinced you of that fact, than the political fights over the right to end a human life while it is still in its mother’s womb should.

However, the horrible actions of Governor Cuomo and his fellow Far Left Democrats should not surprise anyone.

In March, 2008, during a Townhall Meeting in Western Pennsylvania, Democratic Presidential Candidate Barack Hussein Obama (mm mmm mmmm) said,

Look, I got two daughters — 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first about values and morals, but if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby. I don’t want them punished with an STD at age 16, so it doesn’t make sense to not give them information.

Of course, Barack Hussein Obama was elected President of the United States. While he was “radically changing” everything about our sacred land, blood was being spilled across the fruited plains. Especially, in that same state of Pennsylvania:

On February 18, 2010, the FBI raided the “Women’s Medical Society,” run by Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a butcher, euphemistically killing babies under the title of “Abortion Doctor”.

The FBI entered the office about 8:30 p.m. expecting to find to find evidence that it was illegally selling prescription drugs. What they found was America’s Auschwitz:

There was blood on the floor. A stench of urine filled the air. A flea-infested cat was wandering through the facility, and there were cat feces on the stairs. Semi-conscious women scheduled for abortions were moaning in the waiting room or the recovery room, where they sat on dirty recliners covered with blood-stained blankets. All the women had been sedated by unlicensed staff. They also found out that a patient had died there several months earlier.

Until 2009, Gosnell reportedly performed mostly first and second trimester abortions. But his clinic had come to develop a bad reputation, and could attract only women who couldn’t get an abortion elsewhere, former employees have said. “Steven Massof estimated that in 40 percent of the second-trimester abortions performed by Gosnell, the fetuses were beyond 24 weeks gestational age,” the grand jury states. “Latosha Lewis testified that Gosnell performed procedures over 24 weeks ‘too much to count,’ and ones up to 26 weeks ‘very often.’ …in the last few years, she testified, Gosnell increasingly saw out-of-state referrals, which were all second-trimester, or beyond. By these estimates, Gosnell performed at least four or five illegal abortions every week.”

On January 22, 2013, Obama said,

On the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we reaffirm its historic commitment to protect the health and reproductive freedom of women across this country and stand by its guiding principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters, and women should be able to make their own choices about their bodies and their health care.

The Liberal mind is fascinating. Sick and twisted…but, fascinating. On the one hand, Obama was saying that children are to be cherished and protected. I agree.

At the same time, just like Speaker Pelosi did last year when she proclaimed that banning abortions would be “un-Christian”, Obama stood by a woman’s right to kill her baby.

I can hear the Liberals screeching right now.

That’s not a baby. It’s a fetus! It’s not the same thing! You chauvinist pig!

(Fetus is Latin for BABY)

If cherishing God’s gift of life makes me a “chauvinist pig”, you’re darned skippy I am! Yay, pigs! Sooey! That’s not a puppy growing in there, y’all.

The blatant hypocrisy that was shown by Obama, his loyal minions in Congress, and the MSM, the Liberal pundits on TV and Radio, and ignorant “seminar” callers and posters on Conservative websites, in defense of “their rights “not to be punished with a baby” and their resounding silence regarding the American Auschwitz known as the Gosnell Case, and now with the fact that Liberals are aghast at the fact that Conservatives dare to stand up to them on the side of life as they attempt to move toward killing babies both inside and outside of the womb is reminiscent of Germany in the 1930s…and positively chilling.

Remember a while back, when MSNBC Host, and resident Communist, Melissa Harris-Perry proclaimed,

…we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities. Once it’s everybody’s responsibility, and not just the household’s, then we start making better investments. (?)

Evidently, for Modern American Liberals, that only applies when the child is no longer a “punishment”.

Some good news regarding Americans’ Views on abortion can be found in a post from TheHill.com, published less than one month before 2016’s President Election…

The most recent Marist Poll from this summer shows that a 53% majority of Americans support a strong pro-life policy of limiting abortions only to cases of rape, incest, or medical emergencies. An overwhelming 78% supermajority support, at a minimum, limiting abortion only to the first three months of pregnancy. Sixty-two of Americans oppose forcing taxpayers to foot the bill for abortions.

In the case of “Unlimited Abortion On Demand”, I believe that the overwhelming majority of average Americans have recognized the obvious.

As President Ronald Reagan observed, all those decades ago,

I’ve noticed that everyone who is for abortion has already been born.

And that includes all the Molech worshippers in the Far Left Democratic Party…including their Propaganda Arm, the Main stream Media, their minions on Social Media and all of the professional politicians representing them on Capitol Hill.

In his Third Law of Motion, Sir Isaac Newton wrote that

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

These laws are the reaction to an out-of-control callous political ideology which has sought to treat human life as a disposable inconvenience.

Whether the laws remain as they are written  or not, at least their passage has gotten a national conversation started.

At that’s a good thing…for the sake of the unborn.

Do you ever feel helpless about what's going on? Do you turn the sound down when a member of "The Resistance" speaks? Do you talk back to the television? I understand fully. My blog contains the views of a 60 year old Christian American Conservative. I was raised by members of The Greatest Generation. My father landed at Normandy. I love this country. By the way, how did that Hopey-Changey Thing work out for ya?

I have been writing daily since April of 2010. I enjoy researching and sharing my thoughts with you. It is a privilege and it beats the heck out of punching a hole in the wall.

Thanks for reading my posts!

I'll keep writing....

  1. Abortion should remain legal, but not paid for or controlled by the Government. Believe there are dire circumstances that require an abortion and that this should be stipulated by the individual States. People should be made to be responsible for what they choose to do with their bodies and not make it the responsibility of tax payers.

  2. Abortion is a option that will never be completely taken away from any women. I think the main thrust of the subject is women that use abortion as birth control and the very late term abortions. Instead of abortions get sterilized if you wish to sleep with men and not use protection. I do believe abortion is especially in late term is murder. Why not a law outlining exactly how abortion will be conducted safely in what cases and if there is proof a women is using it as birth control what mandatory measures will be taken to prevent multiple abortions as a convenience to safe sex.
