Farmington, Minnesota is an exurban enclave south of the Twin Cities in purple Dakota county previously best know as the home town of porno starlette Colleen Applegate aka Shauna Grant.
Ms. Applegate/Grant’s alma mater, Farmington High School, is a public facility supported by both local and state tax money.
So when the Farmington Marching Band decided to go Full Resistance at halftime of a recent football game it became Big News in these here parts. Big enough that The Deplorable Housewives of the Midwest decided to do a little resisting of their own it:
The Farmington Tigers High School Marching Band unveil their new “Dystopia” themed field show featuring images of the “1984 All-Seeing Eye,” raised fists and the word “RESIST” at the Farmington Tigers vs. Woodbury High School football game on Aug. 31, 2018
Parents and community members react negatively to the imagery and blast school administration, band directors and school board members with emails expressing their displeasure in the field show turning political
Band Directors, Erin Holmes and Bradley Mariska, insist that the field show has no political meaning or context despite the use of the word “RESIST” and raised fist images
Naturally there was a completely disingenuous response from The Resistance and their media enablers: no, no, no they cried – it’s about 1984 and The Hunger Games. All totally innocent and nothing to do with the Evil Orange Hitler.
Conveniently ignoring the fact that the term resistance has been in vogue since about, oh, say, 3AM on November 9, 2016.
According to the statement on the Tigers’ band Facebook page, the halftime show is “inspired by dystopian fiction” and “represents the age-old struggle between the powerful and the powerless, while also reinforcing important values like unity and strength. A central theme of our show is one that is important for both students and adults to consider, ‘What would it be like to live in a world where culture and personal expression are forbidden?’”

Yes, Trump is such a horrible, evil, wicked, rotten, mean no-goodnik that for the past three years absolutely nobody has been afraid to criticize or bad-mouth him on any and all private and public media platforms anywhere.
Due to the heroics of The Resistance, I guess…
