August 1st marks the date for widespread distribution of plans for 3D printed guns online. The move by a Texas-based company has garnered opposition from both the Right and the Left. President Trump himself has even weighed in on 3D printed guns. Everyone seems to think 3-D printing is going to put unregistered, untraceable, and undetectable guns into the hands of terrorists and criminals.
Is that really the case, though? Will August 1st be the start of the Gunpocalypse?
