Is Border Enforcement the Moral Equivalent of Ethnic Cleansing?

Donk “It Girl Dujour” Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is on record expressing the opinion that application of border enforcement protocols by the Trump Administration is the spectral equivalent of ethnic cleansing:

Democratic Socialist congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez agreed with a statement that President Trump’s immigration policies are similar to ethnic cleansing in a new podcast episode that was released on Tuesday.

Ocasio-Cortez made a guest appearance on “In The Thick,” a podcast “about race, identity and politics [that] few people are discussing or want to discuss,” according to its website.

“We also have to ask ourselves the question: How much is this black-box detention necessary? And you look at these facilities — we’re caging women and children, we’re jumping to criminalize people … ”

“Kinda like ethnic cleansing,” Maria Hinojosa, one of the co-hosts responded.

Ocasio-Cortez responded, “I mean, we’re on that spectrum, I would say.”

Got that?

Starting with the fall of Carthage following the Third Punic War through Bolshevik killing fields of 1919-1920 onto horrors of Bosnia in the 1990’s history is rife with examples of ethnic cleansing.

And now in the 21st century Trump joins the cavalcade of tyrants.

The charge of border security as ethnic cleansing is not unique to Ocasio-Cortez:

The United States enforcing the sovereignty of its national borders is on the same moral plain as genocide.

This is not the first time left-wing activists vehemently opposed to President Donald Trump’s immigration agenda have made sensational accusations about “ethnic cleansing.”

After Trump referred to MS-13 illegal immigrant gangsters as “animals” earlier this year, the pro-amnesty group United We Dream group also accused Trump of “building up a racially motivated rationale for his immoral and brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing.”

“Such tactics have been used over and over, generation after generation to criminalize, lock up and kill Black and brown people,” the group wrote in an email for its fundraising campaign.  “You see, the Trump plan is plainly clear. It is not about gangs. It is not even about sensible immigration policy. Trump’s goal is to eradicate immigrants from this land and to keep us living in fear. He wants to go after all of us, and with his comments and his tour to Long Island today, he is building up a racially motivated rationale for his immoral and brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing.”

One of  Instapundit Glenn Reynolds trademarked phrases is “all the Democrats have to do to win elections is not be crazy and they can’t even manage that.”

But when crazy is what you’re selling the crazier the better…

Strozek, along with his alter-egos the decadent, drug-addled Sixties refugee Uncle Bruno and his intolerably feminist SJW Cousin Brunoetta have been riding the not-yet crested wave of deplorability with posts covering politics, sports, entertainment and zombies.

Aptly described as both "hilarious and deeply disturbed" Strozek has enthusiastically embraced the recommendation of the late Raoul Duke that "when the going gets weird the weird turn pro."

Although he has fallen far short of his bucket-list goal of writing for such respectable rags as The National Enquirer and The Weekly World News Strozek is grateful for the opportunity to pen his unhinged screeds at Sparta Report and is constantly amazed and delighted at the reception his pieces receive in the cements.
