President Donald Trump commuted the sentence of Alice Johnson, a black woman who had been serving a life sentence for a first time drug offense. According to reports President Trump had long been considering commuting Johnson’s sentence, and Kim Kardashian West had been lobbying the president on Johnson’s behalf for several months.
Pundits on both the Left and the Right found fault with Trump’s decision. Many insisted that Trump was using the pardon as a distraction from real issues such as Russia and how many times he and Stormy Daniels engaged in the horizontal monster mash.
President Trump tweeted a message to the newly freed Alice Johnson Thursday morning, saying:
Good luck to Alice Johnson. Have a wonderful life!
Of course this simple tweet managed to send Leftists into fits of apoplectic rage.
@realDonaldTrump Alice Johnson is out of prison. Donald Trump will soon be in prison. It all works out.
Aww, bless his heart. After almost two years he still has faith in Mueller. How sweet.
@realDonaldTrump First nice thing you’ve ever done. Probably last, before the impeachment.
That’s right, just keep hoping and praying. It’ll make the tears you cry when Trump wins his second term that much sweeter.

Love it when Leftists who don’t believe in God quote scripture in an effort to make themselves seem morally superior.
@RyanHillMI @realDonaldTrump He did it for @KimKardashian. Not for Alice. When he starts commuting sentences of others imprisoned for decades for non-violent offenses instead of just pardoning his friends, then maybe. But not yet.
I’m confused…didn’t he just do that with Alice Johnson?
Maybe I’m not woke enough to get it.
@realDonaldTrump Happy for Johnson but Donald Trump’s pardon of Alice Johnson is dangerous use of our institution. Instead of reforming federal non-violent drug sentencing and invoking mass pardons our government is being used as Donald Trump’s reality show tool for the wealthy and well connected
I wonder if Obama’s pardon’s were a “dangerous use of our institution?”
@realDonaldTrump Hey where is my pardon I want my life back i paid off everything I owed u think that’s going to help u get real
Okay…I think someone might need to switch to decaf for a while…
@realDonaldTrump Why just Alice Johnson? Why not release everyone in jail for non-violent drug offenses. There are so many others in the same situation that you do nothing about. Does a TV Reality Show star need to show up on each one’s behalf?
What a great idea! What about the people in jail for violent drug offenses, though? How is it fair that they have to stay in prison while everyone else gets to go home? They’ve got families too, you know.
In fact, let’s just get rid of prisons altogether. Everyone can live on the honor system. I’m sure that’ll work out great, right?
One Twitter user pointed out the obvious:
@realDonaldTrump Even when #POTUS does good they still find bad in it smh get over it already damn! #MAGA
Amen, brother, amen.
