The investigation into alleged FBI lovers (I have my doubts on that) Peter Strzok and Lisa Page’s “insurance policy” against the candidate and then President Donald Trump took a dark turn today. Not only does it seem like the FBI’s top brass was involved in some sort of plot, but President Obama himself appears to have known exactly what was going on:
Newly revealed text messages between FBI paramours Peter Strzok and Lisa Page include an exchange about preparing talking points for then-FBI Director James Comey to give to President Obama, who wanted “to know everything we’re doing.”
The message, from Page to Strzok, was among thousands of texts between the lovers reviewed by Fox News. The pair both worked at one point for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Page wrote to Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016, about prepping Comey because “potus wants to know everything we’re doing.” According to a newly released Senate report, this text raises questions about Obama’s personal involvement in the Clinton email investigation.
Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis) is releasing the new batch of texts between Strzok and Page. Accompanying the release is a report titled, “The Clinton Email Scandal and the FBI’s Investigation of it.”
It also appears that the Clinton emails that were found on Anthony Weiner’s laptop in the course of investigating his sick pedophilia were discovered much earlier than we were led to believe:
The newly uncovered texts reveal a bit more about the timing of the discovery of “hundreds of thousands” of emails on former Congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop, ultimately leading to Comey’s infamous letter to Congress just days before the 2016 presidential election.
On Sept. 28, 2016, Strzok wrote to Page, “Got called up to Andy’s [McCabe] earlier.. hundreds of thousands of emails turned over by Weiner’s atty to sdny [Southern District of New York], includes a ton of material from spouse [Huma Abedin]. Sending team up tomorrow to review… this will never end.” According to the Senate report, this text message raises questions about when FBI officials learned of emails relevant to the Hillary Clinton email investigation on the laptop belonging to Weiner, the husband to Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
On October 28, 2016, Director Comey announced that “due to recent developments,” the FBI had decided to re-open the Clinton investigation. This begs the question what did Comey know and when did he know it? Comey claimed that he was briefed on October 27, yet it appears the emails were discovered much earlier than that. Why was Comey being briefed nearly a month after the emails were discovered? Given Comey’s history of lying under oath can we really trust that he didn’t know when these emails were discovered?
More importantly, however, the new texts seem to indicate that President Obama may have known exactly what Strzok and Page were doing. The question then becomes what did Obama know and how much did he know? Were Strzok and Page simply referring to the FBI’s investigation into Clinton’s emails? Or were they talking about their so-called “insurance policy” against Donald Trump?
The Right had long been worried about Obama’s statist leanings during his presidency. Who wouldn’t be nervous about a president who openly lamented elections and expressed the desire to be like the president of China? I myself had written a bit of fiction detailing a scenario where then-President Obama seized control of America during his farewell address. Our concerns were largely dismissed as the conspiratorial ravings of madmen.
Now, however, it seems that Barack Obama may at least be indirectly implicated in what can only be described as a Deep State coup against a sitting president. At the very least it seems that Obama may have been involved in, or at least known about, the attempt to influence the election to prevent Donald Trump winning. Did Obama order the “insurance policy” or did he merely know about it? If Obama did know about it how much did he know? Was he kept abreast of all of the major actions, or was he only aware of the broad strokes?
Whatever the answers, the American people deserve to know. The tools of the state cannot be allowed to be used to influence the outcome of an election. Not if we want to keep hold of our already too-fragile Republic.
