What’s the old saying? When you’ve dug yourself into a hole, throw away the shovel?
Nope, Matt Lauer keeps digging:
“As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC,” Mr. Lauer, who was fired, wrote in part.
The longtime “Today” anchor was fired on Wednesday for allegations of sexual harassment in the workplace, including allegedly exposing himself to women in the office and inviting women to his hotel room during Olympic coverage.
Two more women came forward on Thursday with additional claims.
Mr. Lauer pushed back against some of allegations in his statement, but did not offer details.
“Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed,” he said.
