Trump and the NFL – Morning Thread

An assortment of random thoughts for you this morning.

First, the NFL.  I’m reminded of the book Laura Ingraham wrote circa the Bush years, entitled “Shut Up And Sing.” She was scolding the Dixie Chicks for protesting the presidency of George W. Bush. Seems we have a similar situation brewing, this time bubbling over in one of the largest, most popular entertainment industries in the world.  These mollycoddled, spoiled, overpaid, undereducated, couldn’t-get-a-degree-without-AFAM-studies, gated community, car service, disconnected, ungrateful, obtuse COURT JESTERS who supposedly play for the National  Felon League need to learn the lessons that Target learned so painfully nary a year past.

Will they learn?  Not likely. As General Russel Honore would say, “You’re stuck on stupid.”  And these glorified ENTERTAINERS who don’t contribute to society in any meaningful way (don’t even try to argue charity, they wouldn’t know charity if it punched them in the throat, which is what half the country wants to do right now by the way) are about to find out that approximately 60 million Americans don’t agree with them.

That’s right. They are trying to shove their stupid, ignorant, ill-informed, fact-free social justice agenda down our throats and guess what? The public ain’t buyin’ it.  We aren’t stupid and we don’t take kindly to celebrities trying to tell us things we know aren’t true.  So keep it up, No Fan League players. You are about to burn your industry to the ground, and frankly, and I’ve been a Cowboys fan since I was ten, I DON’T CARE ANYMORE.  Because I can lean on God for this one and just say, “This is God’s way of removing a distraction from me that takes too much of my time anyway.”

Why is it so easy for me to let this go?  I’ve asked myself this.

Simple. When something I care about becomes a political tool for the left, I lose interest. This isn’t just cold anger, although there’s plenty of that. People across the country are infuriated, disgusted, livid over this childish, petulant, selfish, unpatriotic behavior which is the equivalent of kicking sand in the faces of our men and women in the Armed Forces and in Blue who put their lives on the line every day. But more than that, it’s like when you catch your girlfriend or boyfriend messing around.  You suddenly realize they are dead to you.

You’re dead to me, NFL.  JUST SHUT UP AND PLAY.

And Donald Trump is the ONLY one in government pushing back against this nonsense. And he’s catching flak for this from conservatives who are ‘concerned’ because he said ‘SOB’ on twitter.

Grow up and sack up, people. Trump is a lone voice out there in government.  And frankly, and I did hear Mark Levin point this out, WHY is it that EVERYONE else gets to opine on this subject EXCEPT Trump? Why is he not allowed to speak up?  “Oh, it’s not Presidential.”  Who the hell are these people who think they can define what’s presidential?  These snowflakes, these milquetoasts, these handwringers who view the Presidency as a stultefyingly boring, calm, protocol-driven entity.

Get over it and THANK THE MAN. He’s freaking FIGHTING FOR YOUR RIGHT OF FREEDOM OF SPEECH against the PC crowd. We need to get behind him on this.

American minds are diseased. They desperately need a boss right now.  We desperately need leadership. We need truth-telling.  And Trump is willing to fill that role if his own supporters can just shut the hell up and stop whining.

Meanwhile, burn your NFL gear. Don’t watch. Burn your tickets. Mock them mercilessly on twitter and the rest of social media.

It’s for a good cause – America.
