What Has Social Justice Done to the Comic Book Industry?

When I was a lot younger, I used to read some of Marvel’s superhero comics, and I’m sure many of you have as well. I was a big fan of all of the classics; Spider-Man, X-Men, the Avengers, and particularly Iron Man. Even back then, I could dimly recall hearing from my uncle, who got me into comic fandom, that sales had been declining.

It’s understandable, of course. Comic books were the products of another era, ultimately, and with the invention of the internet and video games, as well as the West discovering anime and manga, comic books were increasingly competing with other forms of entertainment for the money and attention of the bored. Marvel and DC also had problems creating new characters and new superheroes that sold as well as their flagship titles.

However, comics has always managed to maintain a core fandom and the characters themselves remain quite popular, as the ongoing popularity of the Marvel and DC superhero movies show. Unfortunately, in spite of the performance of the movies, the comic book industry is on its last legs due to social justice warriors taking over most of the industry.

I recently discovered a Youtube channel called “Diversity & Comics.” In spite of the channel name, the channel is actually strongly anti-SJW. The comic book industry is going through its own version of Gamergate, with social justice warriors increasingly wrecking comics in hamhanded attempts to push their bizarre agenda on the public. You can find out a lot more detail by going to the channel, or having a look at the linked videos posted below.

This video shows what has happened to comic book sales:

This video shows how most people working in comic books are radical SJWs who spend all day on Twitter ranting about Trump, usually blocking anyone who criticizes them. The Youtuber mocks them as “childless weirdos”:

I am Doomberg, one of the original founding members of Sparta Report, and have been here since the beginning. I am an insatiable news junkie and enjoy reading and writing about the US territories, the Caribbean, video games, smartphones, and of course conservative politics in general.

I also really like pictures of gas stations and claim full responsibility for the silly gas station motif. I'm presently trapped behind enemy lines in a blue state with no hope of escape! The ride never ends.
