President Trump Cancels Obama Deal with Cuba, Enforces New Trade/Travel Restrictions
Never understood why we ever dropped them. Oh wait, we had an anti-American president for the last several years. President Trump canceled the “one-sided deal” with Cuba today.
With the deal comes new travel and trade restrictions to stop propping up the communist dictatorship that currently has control over the country.
Trump stated that Barack Obama’s agreement with the Castro controlled government led to increasing violence and instability.
In Miami’s Little Havana community today, Trump issued his statement:
‘They fought for everything and we just didn’t fight hard enough, but now those days are over. Now we hold the cards. We now hold the cards,’ Trump said. ‘Therefore effective immediately, I am cancelling the last administration’s completely one-sided deal with Cuba.’
He continued, stating terms that would have to be met in order for negotiations to proceed on a new deal. He demanded that the Cuban government release the political prisoners it has jailed, turn over American military and civilian criminals, start respecting freedom of assembly and expression, and hold free and fair elections again.
Until that time, the ban on tourism will be reinstated and no American companies will be allowed to engage in financial transactions with Cuba’s businesses.
