I really, really hate that Rachel Maddow is making me plug her crappy show on a network watched by 5 people, but she is. Earlier today Rachel Maddow teased that she had gotten the goods on Donald Trump’s tax returns. She’s planning to release them on her show tonight at 9:00 PM EST.
Rachel Maddow so far hasn’t said when or how she obtained them. It will be interesting to see if she reveals that information on her show tonight. Depending on how she obtained the information, Rachel Maddow could open herself up to civil or even legal penalties. I’m sure we’ll only hear about the tax returns being leaked by the same “Anonymous Sources” guy that keeps leaking everything else. Perhaps it was Senor American Official?
BREAKING: We've got Trump tax returns. Tonight, 9pm ET. MSNBC.

“The things I had to do for those tax returns…they shall haunt me…”
We’re t-minus 22 minutes out from Rachel Maddow’s “Donald Trump Taxageddon” special at the time of this writing. I wonder what sordid revelations documents filled with numbers will generate.
UPDATE: Rachel Maddow gives us the scoop on what she’s got. Sort of:
What we’ve got is from 2005… the President’s 1040 form… details to come tonight 9PM ET, MSNBC.

Update (Doomberg): In effort to reduce Maddow’s ratings, Trump has gone ahead and released them just ahead of the broadcast, per the AP:
The White House says President Donald Trump made more than $150 million in income in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year.
The acknowledgement comes as MSNBC host Rachel Maddow says she has obtained part of Trump’s 2005 tax forms.
The White House is pushing back pre-emptively, saying that publishing those returns would be illegal.
It says, “You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago.”
The White House adds that it is “totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns” and is bashing the “dishonest media.”
Trump refused to release his tax returns during the campaign, claiming he was under audit.
UPDATE: TRUMP LEAKED HIS OWN COPY OF THE RETURN
IT SAYS CLIENT COPY. TRUMP LEAKED HIS OWN COPY OF THE RETURN. https://t.co/fR3ObCpJbY
