Zika Advances Through the Caribbean Islands

The number of confirmed Zika cases in Trinidad now stands at 68.

This is according to the Health Ministry, following consultation with the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).

There are at this time, no confirmed cases in Tobago.

The first Zika case was reported on February 16. The 61-year-old woman, of Gulf View, La Romaine, had recently travelled to New Zealand.

A month later two more cases were reported in La Romaine.

The Ministry stated that there were four confirmed cases of Chikungunya and 13 dengue patients for 2016.
