Gaslighting by the Media: Commenter Submission

Michelle Fields 15 minutes of Fame almost sends Breitbart into a tailspin.

Submitted by RosiesSeeingRed:

In early February, The Conservative Treehouse did an article on Professional Political “Gaslighting” which explained how the left has effectively used gaslighting to convince voters that what they’re seeing and hearing with their own eyes and ears is not reality.

The recent story involving Michelle Fields is showing us an excellent example of gaslighting. First, Corey Lewandowski was accused of aggressively manhandling Fields. From WaPo: “In a first-person account of the incident, Fields wrote that as she attempted to ask Trump a question about affirmative action, “Someone had grabbed me tightly by the arm and yanked me down. I almost fell to the ground, but was able to maintain my balance. Nonetheless, I was shaken.” Relying on an eyewitness account from Washington Post reporter Ben Terris, Fields pointed the finger at Lewandowski.”

Early videos were inconclusive until a recent video came out which showed the exact moment of the alleged incident.

The video made it clear to anyone with eyes that Lewandowski had merely brushed past her, perhaps placing a hand on her arm as he did so to guide her out of the way. That’s when the gaslighting began.

Suddenly, the narrative was changed from yanking her down to grabbing her.  Everyone from Megyn Kelly to Mary Katherine Ham argued that Lewandowski, who in response to their accusation said he never touched her (meaning, I did not throw anyone to the ground), was shown to be guilty in this video because he had in fact touched her. Note the actual touch is not shown at all, right?

And so it went from yanking her to the ground, to grabbing her, to touching her.

The fact that her expression never changed doesn’t matter. If someone grabbed you hard enough to cause you to “almost fall to the ground,” would you show alarm? Maybe even a wince of pain?  The most reasonable among us know the answer to those questions, but the gaslighters want us to believe that what we’re seeing with our own eyes is not reality.

They also don’t want us to notice the accusation went from the aggressive manhandling of a female report to the mere touching of her arm in a crowded room.

Yesterday in my local paper, WaPo’s Sonny Bunch provided yet another opportunity to gaslight the readers as a guest writer in an OpEd entitled Breitbart brouhaha explains Teflon Trump. From the article:

“And the Donald’s fans are eating this up. On Twitter, I’ve had dozens of them send me a link to a video that clearly shows Lewandowski grabbing Fields, as if the video were exculpatory.”

I have a message for Sonny Bunch: Your days of gaslighting are over. We have eyes. We have ears. We have fearless people on the internet bringing us the truth every single day. And we have a candidate who has taken every opportunity to show us examples of your dishonesty. If he is Teflon, it’s because he has exposed all of you to the sunlight.

The gaslighting media is repeatedly being shown to be a bunch of lying frauds with an agenda. Once you see it, it cannot be unseen.
